PETERS TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL FENCING CLUB

All students will learn proper fencing etiquette, competitive rules, and classic fighting techniques. Beginner and intermediate fencers are welcome. Training in both foil and epee will be offered. The team will meet once each week for two hours throughout the school year. There is a monthly fee to pay for coaches’ membership fee. Beginner Fencing: No previous experience is required. Beginners will gain a general understanding of major fencing components while learning the basic skills necessary to enjoy competitive and recreational fencing. The course for beginners covers warm-up and stretching exercises and basic foot- and hand- works, and the basics of tactics and strategies.
Intermediate Fencing: Fencers who have mastered the basic skills will be able to continue with both advanced practices and individual lessons. The intermediate program will prepare students to compete individually in local, regional, and national tournaments sponsored by the United States Fencing Association (USFA), in which we hold membership. The Middle School students are allowed to practice with High School team. Peters Township High School Fencing Team will compete in team events. High school students will also be eligible to compete in interschool events among regional high schools.

Mt. Lebanon High School Fencing Club

The Middle School students are allowed to practice with High School team. Mt. Lebanon High School Fencing Team will compete in team events. High school students will also be eligible to compete in PIFA-Pittsburgh Interscholastic Fencing Association events among regional schools.
The PIFA Foil events start January to March and Epee events start April to May.


Seton- La Salle High School

Tuesday’s start time 2:30pm-4:00pm

All students will learn proper fencing etiquette, competitive rules, and classic fighting techniques. Beginner and intermediate fencers are welcome. Training in both foil and epee will be offered.  There is a monthly fee to pay for coaches’ membership fee.  The school provides all the equipment and covers insurance and league fees. The Middle School students are allowed to practice with High School team.  The High School Fencing Team will compete in team events. High school students will also be eligible to compete in PIFA-Pittsburgh Interscholastic Fencing Association events among regional school’s PIFA Foil events start January to March and Epee events start April to May.


Seneca Valley Fencing Club

If you are looking to learn fencing, students can join the Seneca Valley Fencing Club. We participate in PIFA-Pittsburgh Interscholastic Fencing Association League. We participate in both foil and epee seasons with a total of 11 local high schools to fence each season. Practices run with the school schedule, September-May. Coach Tim Yultchiev

Foil season is January/March and Epee season is April/May.
